Dharia was raised in a crafty family. Her grandmother introduced her to painting, sewing, and how to wield a mean hot glue gun. A nomadic childhood spanning 7 states (and one territory) afforded her the opportunity to visit museums and historical sites across the country. This lifestyle fostered a passion for art and history, but she chose biology as her college major and is continuing her education, currently as a PhD candidate in Molecular & Cell Biology. Dharia balances her daily laboratory experiments with various creative outlets including knitting, spinning, dyeing, quilting, photography, and stained glass. Dharia and Skeintily Clad products have appeared in BUST Magazine and on the DIY Network television show “Uncommon Threads”.
